LeAnn Rimes Gets Emotional, Weeps Over the Past Year's Events, Sings a Christmas Song (VIDEO)

LeAnn Rimes Gets Emotional, Weeps Over the Past Year's Events, Sings a Christmas Song"Last year was a really tough year for me," says singer LeAnn Rimes. And that's the truth. The fallout from her divorce and her well-publicized affair with actor Eddie Cibrian continues. This October, she made waves by appearing in 'Shape Magazine,' of all things. Some readers were upset that an "adulteress" was in the magazine, the editor apologized for putting her on the cover, LeAnn was angered by the apology, there was an apology for the apology ... it got weird.

It was a traumatic end to the year. Rimes' divorce was finalized in June, but people haven't gotten over the affair involving "America's Sweetheart." On the first-ever 'CMA Country Christmas' special (Mon., 9:30PM ET on ABC). LeAnn reflected on past events -- since that's what the holidays are for; it's a time of reflection as well as gift-giving. The singer also shed some tears, which hopefully isn't what the holidays are for.

Ms. Rimes discussed the rough time she's had, saying that she sent out a special Christmas letter to the friends who were "there for [her] night and day" during her divorce and subsequent "scandalous" period. While she talked about this, the singer's eyes started to well up. "I am so gonna start crying," she said. And then she did.

Once her tears were dry, LeAnn sang the holiday classic "White Christmas." Fun fact: Rimes's first professional job was starring in a musical version of 'A Christmas Carol' at the age of seven. So now she's come full-circle. Elsewhere on the show, LeAnn discussed how much she loved Christmas as a child -- oddly enough, the lyrics to the song she picked are strangely nostalgic: "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas/ Just like the ones I used to know."

Here's hoping that the singer doesn't have to look into the past to experience a merry Christmas. Now that all the parties involved in the affair have moved on, maybe she can enjoy this holiday season.

She's had a tough year, really? What about her ex-husband and Eddie Cibrian's ex, not to mention the two kids involved. Just because "others cheat and have affairs all the time" does not make it right. What is aggravating about Leann Rimes is that she is always lamenting about how she is going through rough times and preaching love and forgiveness - easy to do when you're the one who needs to be forgiven, not so easy when you're the one who has been betrayed.

why is she always playing the victim?

lola,

Or perhaps Leann can learn to keep her personal life out of the eyes of the public. When Leann gives interview after interview on TV networks like ABC where she plays the victim, it most certainly involves the public. She has no business crying about how tough she had it when she was the one who was CHEATING and meeting up with a married man. Leann is the one who needs to get a life, if she so content and happy with EC, why does she spend so much time crying about how no one likes her?

Leann is judgemental, so what is your point? Everytime she opens her mouth to cry about how hard she had it last year, she is being judgemental and trivalizing infidelity.

The Bible also says, don't commit adultery, don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing, and repent. So don't lecture people on the Bible if you are going to just pick and choose which verses you should live by.

Leann isn't famous, hence why she has to stay relevant by always talking about her affair with a married man.

Perhaps you should take your own advice, go live your life instead of worry about what people are saying about Leann and her inappropriate behavior. You don't watch the garbage on TV, yet you are here on a message board, trying to lecture others? That is how people fill about Leann, just look at the fallout from when she was put on the cover of Shape. So how is lecturing people on the Bible going to make your life better? It doesn't, you just like defending people like Leann who have the "ME, ME, ME" attitude. Leann put herself in the position to be criticized, she knows full well that no one likes her(except for ABC because for some reason they seem to keep giving her the platform to play the victim).

And does the same also apply to Leann. Maybe she can make her life what it needs to be by stop playing the victim and then allowing networks like ABC to assist her in this disgusting behavior.

And yeah, there were rumors about her husband being gay and all, which just makes her seem more strange. Why would she marry a gay guy to begin with? It's the modern age, not the 1950's.

Oh, boo hoo, cry me a river -- maybe she should have thought about that before she laid down with another woman's husband. And, oh yeah, not to mention she was married too. She is crying for her ruined career, not her divorce, just like a typical self-absorbed celebrity.

A friend of Cassius Clay (before he became Mohamed Ali) wrote they went to a wrestling match together And Clay was fascinated by the "bad guy" of the match. And the friend told Clay to note how many jeered and hated the bad guy. And Clay said yes, but look how many paid to come see him.
Seems like many learned the same lesson. Anything to keep their names in the news.

sorry, I don't respect men or women who cheat...whether they are celebrities or my neighbors. Have some character and live your life without causing others pain. Grow up if you're unhappy in a marriage and talk/leave before cheating. Cheaters are total losers in my book
