The Maccabeats Perform Their Viral Hanukah Sensation 'Candlelight' on 'The Early Show' (VIDEO)

The Maccabeats sing There are precious few Hanukkah songs in the popular vernacular, at least compared to Christmas carols. Adam Sandler made a dent in the gap with his 'Hanukkah Song' several years ago, and now The Maccabeats, an acapella group from New York's Yeshiva University, are following suit.

Their song "Candlelight," sung to the melody of "Dynamite" by Taio, has become an Internet hit, and they stopped by the CBS 'Early Show' (Weekdays, 7AM on CBS) to talk about it and give the audience a taste of the song.

"If people are telling us this is making them proud to be Jewish," said one of the singers, "and this is making their holiday, making their season, making them happy, that makes all of us really fulfilled and happy."

The Maccabeats' own video (see it here) includes a reenactment of the defense of the Jewish people by the Maccabees from the Greeks, complete with tin foil weapons and shields. A slightly different toga party than you might expect from college kids.
