What to Watch: December 6 - 12

'How I Met Your Mother' - Monday, Dec. 6, 8PM ET/PT, Citytv/CBSTed decides to prove the wisdom of 'When Harry Met Sally' wrong by maintaining his new friendship with married lady Zoey (Jennifer Morrison, 'House'). Which is why he does something no non-fictional character would ever do: invite Kyle MacLachlan into his apartment. He plays Zoey's husband. Who are these perfectly normal fictional women who keep marrying this guy? Haven't they seen 'Blue Velvet' and 'Twin Peaks'? Dude is cute, yes, but seriously creepy.
Also This Week:
'Criminal Minds' - Wednesday, Dec. 8, 9PM ET/PT, CTV/CBS
Tonight the BAU are tracking a serial killer who targets women inside a gated community in Mexico. But Hotch decides the case needs fresh eyes and turns to an FBI cadet, with a 'unique' background, to help out. I'm trying to guess what this unique background will be based on. Here's my bet: this cadet's mom was murdered by a serial killer targeting women in a Mexican gated community. Because this show? Not subtle.
'Supernanny' - Friday, Dec. 10, 8PM ET/PT, Citytv/ABC
There's nothing I like more around the holidays than a little schadenfreude, and it looks like this week Jo Frost works with a family with misery to spare. For they have birthed Dylan, a three-year-old tyrant who refuses to be potty trained and rules the house with a sticky, iron fist. Dylan's refusal to eat anything other than sugary snacks has led to anemia, which means we can really heap the blame on these parents. Jo will sort them out, I'm sure, but in the meantime, we get to judge the lives of strangers. And isn't that what the holiday season is all about?
'Barenaked for the Holidays' - Sunday, Dec. 12, 7PM ET, A Channel
We Canadians have our own Christmas traditions and this special is fast becoming one of them. Recorded before the shame, the cocaine and departure of Stephen Page (that almost rhymes!) -- it features all five members of the Barenaked Ladies singing holiday favorites and their own hits, like 'If I Had Million Dollars.'
