Matthew Perry"Must See Wednesday"? In a sign that they're all still 'Friends,' it's been announced that Courteney Cox will take a break in February and March while Matthew Perry launches his new sitcom in the 'Cougar Town' time slot.

In a statement yesterday ABC said that Perry's new show, 'Mr. Sunshine,' will debut on the network February 9, replacing 'Cougar Town' in the coveted Wednesday 9:30PM ET slot until April 13.

This positions the newbie sitcom in-between established hit 'Modern Family' and the new Shonda Romes medical drama, 'Off the Map' and gives it several weeks to gain an audience before 'Cougar Town' comes back April 13.

'Off the Map' will air from January 12 to April 13, when it will be replaced by the premiere of 'Happy Endings,' an all-new ensemble comedy starring Elisha Cuthbert ('24').

So from April 13 ABC will be trying out a new three-hour comedy block on Wednesdays from 8PM ET. The new lineup will be as follows:
'The Middle,' 8PM ET
'Better With You,' 8:30PM ET
'Modern Family,' 9PM ET
'Cougar Town,' 9:30PM ET
'Happy Endings,' 10PM ET
'Modern Family' Fan Favorites, 10:30PM ET

In 'Mr. Sunshine,' Perry stars as Ben Donovan, a self-involved manager of a San Diego sports arena, the Sunshine Center, where curious mishaps and bizarre requests are nothing more than ordinary. His co-stars inlcude Allison Janney ("The West Wing') and Andrea Anders ('Better Off Ted'). Perry will also executive-produce the comedy.

ABC described 'Happy Endings' as "a fresh and funny take on modern friendship and what one urban family will do to stay friends after the perfect couple who brought them all together ... break up on their wedding day." It co-stars Zach Knighton ('FlashForward') and Damon Wayans, Jr. ('Dance Flick') and comes from producers behind shows like 'My Boys,' 'How I Met Your Mother' and 'Arrested Development.'

I like everyone in 'Mr. Sunshine', but when I read about it, it really just makes me miss 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' and 'Better Off Ted'.

Oddly enough, I am completely accepting of Bradly Whitford as Dan Stark.
