'Chelsea Lately' Panel Talks Bristol Palin's Gay Comment to Margaret Cho (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Dec 8th 2010 5:20AM
Chelsea Handler Talks Margaret Cho vs. Bristol PalinThe battle between Margaret Cho and Bristol Palin continues -- online. Whether intended or not, Margaret launched a media firestorm on Nov. 29 when she blogged that fellow ex-'Dancing With the Stars' competitor Bristol appeared on the dance-competition show only for her mother's political gain.

Margaret later clarified that she was merely commenting on rumors and, though she doesn't agree with the family's politics, she likes Bristol and thinks "she's a cool person." Bristol then fired back with a lengthy blog post on Facebook.

The panelists on 'Chelsea Lately' (weeknights, 11PM ET on E!) seemed genuinely impressed shocked by the essay's eloquence but took issue with the odd gay joke (jab? insult?) Bristol tacked on the end.

As Ross Mathews explained, "You were on 'Dancing With the Stars'! It took a village of gays to make you look how you looked on that show. It's not smart to mess with us. We are here, we are queer, and we do your hair, Bristol!"

once again I have to come across this no substance giberish...I am no Palin supporter but it seems to me the media spends way too much time trying to chip away at this family's character by bashing someone in thier family...I dont care if they have views on gays or speak them out publicly...seems everyone else--including gays to religious leader--love to use thier freedom to express thier views in our schools or at soldiors burials and no one is allowed to say anything about them without looking like they are bad people...you know what...if your gay, inconsiderate, or just a plain jerk and someone has something to say about that offends you do like the rest of us regular people and get over it...I've been to a few of Cho's comedy rutines and you won't find her refraining from cutting people down with her jokes when she needs a laugh...so why arent people rising at arms about defending fat, ugly, or poorly dressed people that she may offend...I'll tell you why...because if your a grown up you know no matter where you go people are going to have something to say about you and its up to you to blow them off...only reason these people's comment are in our face is because someone out there actually thinks we give a damn about what Cho, Palin or the gay guy on that show thinks...yeah I said gay guy...now someone out there make me famous for it...lol...

There is nothing sweet about this homophobic young woman. She is an ignorant overprivileged jerk.

...and about Ross Mathews?

This snarky little ignoramuses should know better. When you spend your entire young adult life skirting around the fringe of 'show-biz' you'd be better served by 'IN-cluding' nice young people like Bristol Palin in your circle of friends. The 'tart tongued' nasty ones.. don't like YOU. They like the IDEA of you. When the chips are down and you're not in range of a 'camera' .... see who REALLY remembers you. (Come back to the GOOD side, Ross)

Oh!? Now its about Bristol Palin and 'the gays?' Gime a break. She could 'say nothing' and 'do nothing' and you'd STILL hurl invective at this sweet young woman. You don't REALLY need an excuse to vilify conservative woman and their children. Do you?

..and each time you do, you reveal yourselves to be the mean spirited, woman hating, anti____s (fill in the blank with latest insult) that you are.

Maybe Bristol should just keep her mouth shut. She is not a star to begin with and the truth is, if it wasn't for her mother she wouldn't have been on the show at all.

Maybe Bristol should just keep her mouth shut. SHe is not a star and the only reason she was even on the show was because of her mom. Instead of writing essays on the subject, she should go to school and learn to write them herself.
