Letterman Debates Barbara Walters' 'Most Fascinating People,' Including Sarah Palin , Justin BieberIf it's the end of the year, then it's time for a Barbara Walters Special. Since 1993, Ms. Walters has used her Oscar special to talk with the "10 Most Fascinating People of the Year." But now, that's coming to an end: Walters said that 2010 is the last year for her special interviews. On the new 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), Barbara and David Letterman debated her final "most fascinating" selections, and exchanged some sarcastic remarks.

Letterman started reading off the list: "Betty White -- fascinating. Justin Bieber -- ennnhhh," he said. Walters rushed to the young singer's defense: "If you're a twelve-year-old girl, you love Justin Bieber!" Then the pair moved on to Barbara's other controversial choice: Sarah Palin, who's making a third appearance on the special.

"God bless Sarah Palin!" Letterman said sarcastically. He then layered even more irony onto his support of the former governor. "I want Sarah Palin to be the President of the United States! ... Don't you?" he asked Barbara. Ms. Walter chuckled nervously in response, as the studio audience cracked up.

Here are some of Barbara's other picks for the year's "most fascinating" people: Actress Sandra Bullock, singer Jennifer Lopez, NBA star LeBron James, future British princess Kate Middleton, General David Petraeus, and the cast of 'Jersey Shore.' Yes, even Snooki has been elevated to the ranks of "most fascinating." What do you think of Barbara's choices?

I'm sorry but Jersey Shore, Justin Bieber, J-Lo?
Most fascinating??? NOT. "Fascinating" defined:
"of great interest or attraction; enchanting; charming; captivating."

Sandra Bullock may meet this criteria - but not Snooki... How about Oprah, Laura Bush, Jacki Evancho, Sen. Scott Brown, Tom Brady, Bill Gates, Michael Douglas, and many, many more?

Walters has met with the most powerful leaders and people in the world and THIS is the best she can do? Snooki? Babs is going out with a whimper. Was she too lazy / tired to give us her usual best? Hey, it's her legacy.

Barbara Walters-David Letterman ???? Probably the two most phony people on TV. Barbara Walters has lived a life of trying to be someone she is not or ever will be.
David Letterman ?? His fantasy is owning a chain of Gay Bars across the country.

Sarah Palin may very well be the next President of the United States of America. I understand that 'some' may not support her.. but 'they' should realize that millions upon millions of eligible voters adore her and WILL vote for her.

Sarah Palin IS fascinating. Your 'opinion' otherwise.. does NOT alter that fact.

BTW..., Letterman's 'shtick' is tiring. Let's face it. He fears strong women. His 'shtick' is to demean them. It's not funny. He's an ignorant SOB

Ah, the arrogance of youth. Those delusional young people who are never going to be old people. Not long ago (It seems), I would have thought of a 63 year old as an, "Old geezer", Dennis. Now, I wish I was Letterman's age. Some day, God willing, you might, also.

Outside of Betty White & Petreus I really don't see much that would be considered fascinationg about any of these people on the list. For her last show it sounds like it will be really mundane. Let's be realistic.
