Deidre Hall Talks About Her New Book and Returning to 'Days of Our Lives.' Plus: Win a 'DOOL' Giveaway!

The sands of time have carried actress Deidre Hall from daytime drama to a new venture: writing cookbooks.The former 'Days of Our Lives' star, who appeared on the soap for nearly 30 years before leaving in early 2009, stopped by the AOL TV offices to talk about her new book, 'Deidre Hall's Kitchen Close-Up,' as well as 'Days of Our Lives 45 Years: A Celebration in Photos' by 'Days' production executive Greg Meng.
Hall revealed how she got into the cookbook writing business. "The book was actually 35 years in the making," she said.
"The co-author and I, Lynne Bowman, have been friends since we were girls and we've spent years raising our children, living our lives and sitting at the kitchen table ... saying 'we should write these things down, we have all this information about health and nutrition.'"
Finally, they put pen to paper and what emerged was a cookbook focused on making healthy food with fresh ingredients and the highest-quality products. Sounds a lot like what First Lady Michelle Obama is championing, right?
"Well, Michelle Obama's kind of copying us ... just kidding!" Hall laughed.
When we polled our readers what they would ask Hall, of course many replied with the burning question: Will Hall ever return to 'Days of Our Lives'?
"Would I go back to 'Days'?" she mused. "Two years ago I would've said, 'Absolutely!'" But while she remains open to it, Hall also said she enjoyed writing and had plans for even more cookbooks.
