So sad . . .what i would give to expose my one and only daughter (12) to beautiful Alaska -- and to experience it with native Alaskans who know where to go, how to do it, what to bring . ..!!! If we approach life with a sense of wonder and appreciation from what is different and unique outside our own comfort zone, our kids will follow our lead and live their lives open to all new and different. We watched the show with our daughter, and she said, "Mom, I think that Kate was miserable and complaining on Dancing with the Stars, and she is miserable and complaining when she gets to take all of her kids camping in a beautiful place with happy people, in Alaska!" And, she said, "Look, her kids like the rain, just like me! If she was smiling and didn't care about the cold and wet, she could be having a great time with her kids! Look, Mom, they love catching fish, and I bet they can't do that at home!"
That woman is a piece of work and it is a tragedy that she has opportunities for wealth and fame -- only in America!

Most people either hate camping or love it. Not many in middle. I used to love it, now I confess to being into creature comforts, but I think this looked like fun. As far as Sarah Palin "setting her up" - no way. She knew exactly what was going to happen, she's a control freak. I think it was the rain that set her off. Too bad, the kids clearly were having a great time. What I thought was really sad was the look on Piper's face when she took off. Piper was so excited to have them there and then looked like Kate had slapped her in the face.

I heard Kate Gosselin is now looking for a man. Hey Kate - if I find a guy who wants a dried up, loud mouthed, vericose vein laden, cross-eyed moron with blond out of bottle hair I'll let ya know. Otherwise, keep the batteries to MR HANDY well stocked.

Someone said Palin has the right to kill a legal animal and eat it. Just so you know, wolves are on the endangered species list. Further, research CLEARLY shows that without wolves, the sickly and old moose, elk, etc., become overpopulated. This weakens entire herds because there is just so much food and when herd size becomes too large, they all get sickly, weak, starve. Wolves hunt the week, sickly and old and prevent this from happening. Sick animals, carrying contagious diseases, spread death to even the healthiest in the herd. Wolves, somehow, have insight into available food sources for the coming year and, when game is scarce, it may be that only the alpha pair or even no pair will breed. When there is an overabundance of food, more will mate and whelp. These facts are why Canada has never allowed the mindless slaughter of wolves and is why wolves were returned to Montana and Yellowstone Park. When they were eliminated, entire herds of elk, antelope, etc., ran out of food and were weak, sickly, and starving. Now they're back to full strength because wolves only kill off the weak, sick and old, allowing the young and strong to have more than enough food to stay that way.
Bloodthirsty Palin found a flaw in the endangered species law and, like a lot of other flatlanders, hasn't a clue how Mother Nature works. She just wants to increase headcounts of game animals, no matter if they ARE so weak they just stand there and let the so-called "hunters" pay exorbitant amounts of money to Alaskan "guides" just for the privilege of shooting these animals who are too old, sick and starving to run away. It's a matter of per-headcount profit. So what does she do to the wolves that would keep game populations in check, strong and healthy? She put a bounty on these beautiful wolves. They run them down by helicopters until the poor animals are too exhausted to take another step, then jump out and shoot them (brave great white hunters that they are) as they lay in the snow or dirt. These so-called "hunters also crawl into dens they find and slit the throats of orphaned pups or pull them out and bludgeon them to death with big rocks to save bullets for adults. That does not address the dens that aren't located where the pups simply starve to death if no members of the pack are left to care for them. These are the same heroic great white hunters that bludgeon baby Alaskan seals to death with their baseball bats. And Palin encouraged both these "sports" before quitting her position as governor and continues to encourage such heinous acts even today. Ya. Palin, Great White Hunter! I'd love to see one of those helicopters chase her thru snow-covered mountains, 12-foot snow drifts, until HER tongue is hanging out of HER mouth and causes HER to drop to HER belly out of total exhaustion. Then make her get up and run another 3-4 miles as thought HER life depended on it. That female has not one ounce of motherly instinct, not one smidgen of humanity, or any sense of sportsmanship in her entire body. She has the "mind" and integrity of an adolescent male Kodiak bear in breeding season.
