What to Watch: December 13 - 19

Survivor - Sunday December 19, 8PM ET/PT, Global/CBS

The two-hour finale and one-hour live reunion show for 'Survivor: Nicaragua' finally roll around after what has felt like a very long season. I'm still a fan of 'Survivor' but this latest batch of castaways certainly tested my patience. It's like they purposefully self-selected down to the most boring players. Maybe that's what watching 20 seasons of 'Survivor' does to people: convinces them to vote off strong personalities early. Note to Mark Burnett: fix this.

Also This Week:

How I Met Your Mother - Monday December 13, 8PM ET/PT, Citytv/CBS

Uh oh. It's a very special episode of 'HIMYM' in which Marshall and Lily receive some "shocking" news that makes the whole gang reconsider their lives. But trust this show not to take it too far -- other storylines include a new job for Robin, Ted struggling in the role of best man at a wedding, plus -- wait for it -- Alex Trebek guest starring as himself.

The Deep - Monday December 13, 9PM ET/PT, Space

This five-part BBC mini will air every day for a week, finishing up on Friday. There's a bit of an 'Abyss' feel to this, as Minnie Driver, Goran Visnjic and James Kelly play three scientists heading to the deepest part of the ocean to seek out new life forms and renewable energy. Of course, the last crew that went to check this stuff out mysteriously disappeared. I think James Cameron ate them.

Bryan Adams at the Concert Hall - Tuesday December 14, 9PM ET, Bravo!

Bry plays an acoustic-style set at the Masonic Temple in Toronto to promote his new greatest hits record 'Bare Bones.' The Juno-and-Grammy winner strips back to guitar and keys and plays a nice mix of hits, b-sides, new stuff and old stuff. Set list includes 'Run to You,' 'Cuts Like a Knife' and 'Heaven.'
