Will 'The Good Guys' Survive for Another Season?
Hopefully you said your goodbyes to 'The Good Guys' on Friday night, because things aren't looking too good for a season 2 renewal.Ratings for the struggling Fox series were disappointing this weekend, with Friday's season 1 finale finishing second-to-last out of all programs -- new or repeats -- that aired on the night, Deadline Hollywood reports. The one show it beat? A rerun of 'The Good Guys.'
Creator Matt Nix tweeted on Saturday, "Thanks to all who checked out the finale of #TheGoodGuys. It was truly a joy to make from start to finish."
'The Good Guys' underperformed for the network from the beginning, and Fox pulled the show from its summer run several weeks early. In July, the show's ratings were down to a 1.1 in the 18-49 demo and 3.58 million viewers. According to Deadline, Friday's episode earned just a 0.7 in the demo and 2.3 million viewers.
The procedural-with-a-twist stars Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford as mismatched police detectives. Producers hoped to revamp the show for the fall by adding new cast members, but the planned changes don't seem to have made a difference -- 'The Good Guys' never seemed to find the right footing.
Tell us: Do you like 'The Good Guys'? Will you be upset if it doesn't get renewed for a second season?
