Nick Lachey and Rachael Ray Try to Remember 'Let It Snow' (VIDEO)

Nick Lachey may have gone on to 'Rachael Ray' (Weekdays, Syndicated) in promotion of his hosting gig for NBC's 'The Sing-Off,' but it's not so easy to get away from your past as a singer. Lachey rose to fame, before he married Jessica Simpson, as a member of 98 Degrees.

So, knowing that he had a good singing voice, Ray pushed him into a topic about Christmas songs. "You have a favorite holiday song?" she asked, innocently. When he said he liked "Let It Snow," she agreed that it was a nice one. Then, "You could sing to us. We're nice people."

Lachey was noticeably nervous about the prospect, which was endearing. Here's a guy who used to sing for a living, and now he's daunted at the prospect of singing an impromptu Christmas song.

When he tried to convince Ray to join him, she said he wouldn't want her to sing with him. "My shower hates me," she insisted.

Lachey slipped easily enough into the song, once he had the audience behind him, and almost made it flawless through the second verse before he had to pause to recollect the words. All in all, it was a nice holiday reminder of his musical roots.
