Nine Unanswered 'Glee' Questions

Countdown to Festivus on Dec. 23: On the ninth day of Festivus, TV gave us to ... nine unanswered questions about 'Glee.'

In just a season and a half, 'Glee' has established itself as one of the most talked-about shows on television. But with so many characters and so little time to tell their stories, there are bound to be hiccups.

The Fox hit has a penchant for leaving a whole lot of things up in the air, keeping characters two-dimensional and rushing plots. While we can't ponder all of the head-scratchers, let's take a look at these nine burning questions.

9. How was Coach Beiste able to afford Artie's ReWalk?

Christmas miracles are all well and good, but just how was Beiste able to afford a gadget with a $100,000 price tag? (The instrument is real; it was invented a couple of years ago and will be available for purchase in the U.S. in January.) For even the highest-paid teachers, that's about a year's salary. Oh wait, does Beiste even teach? Does Sue even teach? So far we've only seen them "coach." Thus, another question is born: Is Beiste filthy rich?

Glee8. If the glee club has no budget, how can they afford special effects?

If the glee club has to constantly battle Sue for school funds
and sell pot brownies to raise money for a bus to sectionals, how are they able to afford such elaborate special effects? I'm sure the rain makers used in the 'Singin' in the Rain'/'Umbrella' mash-up cost a pretty penny. The most recent episode saw Rachel and the AV club set up a lovely winter scene complete with fake snow, and the wigs for 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' must have cost a pretty penny.

7. Where are Rachel's dads?

After a long storyline about Rachel trying to find her birth mother, it's surprising we never met Rachel Berry's dads last season. Then, this season we were introduced to a gay bullying storyline and Kurt lamented he had nobody to relate to. You know who's gay and lives in Lima? Rachel's dads. Perfect and relevant way to introduce them, especially with Rachel's budding friendship with Kurt.

6. Who is the piano man?

The accompanist is an always present part of the 'Glee' family, but the fact that he's never had a line is unsettling. I'd love to hear his (probably jaded) take on some of the incidents that have gone down over the past two years.

5. Santana got a boob job, so why are her breasts the same size?

Simple question, really.

4. What's the deal with Becky?

Sue Sylvester can be a mean-spirited Grinch with unwarranted vendettas against almost everything, except when she's dealing with her sister. That's about the only time we see her soften up
. Therefore, it kind of makes sense that Sue would take Becky under her wing -- but why is her role limited to being Sue's personal assistant? Yes, she gets to wear the Cheerios uniform, but in the few Cheerios dance numbers we've seen, she was missing. I know 'Glee' is all about respecting people who are different than you, but it seems pretty disrespectful to keep Becky around just to be Sue's errand girl.

Mark Salling3. What is Puck's motivation?

We all know that in real life Mark Salling was busy recording and promoting his own solo CD, but the writers on 'Glee' dealt with the MIA cast member in a really odd way: By sending Puck to juvy. But aside from a few quips here and there, the issue hasn't really been dealt with, nor have the logistics ever made total sense. He drove his mom's car into a store and tried to steal from an ATM, then went to prison for a few weeks? What was the point of his robbery attempt? What's the point of anything he does? We demand a look inside the mind of Noah Puckerman ASAP!

2. Is Brittany and Artie's relationship real?

The recent Brittany/Artie paring seems a little odd, especially since Brit took his virginity solely as a way to make Santana jealous in episode 5. Artie was very upset, but then the next episode he wanted her back. Oh hello, inconsistent characterization, nice to see you again. Their relationship seemed pretty serious in the past few episodes, and it would've been nice to see Artie work out his feelings in regards to losing his V-card.

1. Is New Directions a family or not?

They're a family. No wait, they hate each other. Which is it!? On one hand we had the boys of 'Glee' taking on Karovsky for bullying Kurt, on the other we have
Santana vindictively telling Rachel about her short-lived tryst with Finn. One was loving, one was curel. Everybody, including Mercedes has been quick with the Rachel-hating this season. Plus, whatever happened to Mercedes' friendship with Quinn? It seems like writers needs to make up their minds on this one.

My unanswered questions are 2 - why does Rachel screw up her face like she's in agony trying to hit anything higher than a Major G, and why are all the females sounding like Minnie Mouse on helium?

Not to be that guy, but Rachel makes a sideways joke about the mysterious Piano Man to Idina Menzel right before their duet, claiming he's just "always around", or something to that effect.

Speaking of the money issue... In the beginning of the show, Kurt was prancing around with very expensive designer clothes and now his father doesn't have money for a honeymoon and a private school?

I guess the major thing that has always bugged me from the start is the money issue, since it has always played a pivotal role in the conflict needed for the story.
This school is a showplace - I've never seen such a gorgeous high school, in terms of architecture or infrastructure. How many high schools have you ever seen, especially in a small, economically depressed midwest town, that look like that? That have shiny new iMacs on every teacher's desk?
And yet, we're to believe that money is so tight that they can't afford to hire a bus to take a glee club to a regional competition?
Yeah, right.

This is about the worst-written and worst-researched article I've run across in a while. If you're going to take such a snarky tone, (oh, and was it suppose to be funny, too?), get your s**t together.

Rachel's dads MIA is the stupid. Are we to assume Rachel has never been bullied for having two gay dads? I am also tired of bulling Rachel as being a joke or it is ok becasue she can be annoying. Bulling the gay is bad but the annoying girl is funny.
And should there be some trust issue address with Rachel. Her mother leaves her, her boyfriend eggs and her Finn lies to her. The group says they are a family yest still treat her like crap all the time. Even she has done nothing.

9 and 8 are kind of irrelevant to me, since when has glee been realistic. would like to see 7. 3 is a pretty good question. And I second stacey, the way they ended Jesse's storyline in season 1 was so out of character I felt. I completely understand why they did it though, they needed a plausible reason to put Rachel and Finn back together without making Rachel look like a relationship jumping ho.

here's a question though: does puck still love quinn? do either of them miss their baby? will we ever see the baby? why do people think that finn has the best male vocals in glee?

It never made sense to me when Jessie got Vocal Adrenaline to throw eggs on Rachel - it was very anti-storyline and anti-their relationship. Just odd.

As for the last question, i dont know about you but in my "family" we fight, bicker, and not get along but ANYONE outside our group does something and you immeditely get their back. ALSO, the group was standing up for Kurt not Rachel. I'm pretty sure if it was Rachel being bullied everyone would take a pause because she can be so irritating but will still go help her. thats what you do for family. (Family meaning those YOU consider family. My family consists of a lot of people i am not blood related to but they are MY family.

9. It would be nice to know, but I really don't care that much.
8.THIS. SO MUCH. I was wondering about it as soon I saw the Singin' set.
7. Valid question, although not the most important. Just would be interesting to finally meet them.
6. Again, would be interesting to learn about Piano Dude, but I don't really NEED to know.
5. EXACTLY. At least stuff her. Make an effort.
4. Never thought about this before, but very true. This should be investigated.
3. Again, I don't really care, but it would be interesting to know why Puck did it.
2. Hmm, I think its real. But the inconsistent characterization point is really the best part of this question.
1. YES. EXCELLENT POINT! What happened to the family?
