What to Watch: December 20 - 26

The Kenny vs. Spenny Christmas Special - Thursday, Dec. 23, 9PM ET/11PM PT, Showcase

As usual, best friends Kenny and Spenny are at cross purposes. Spenny wants to make a genuinely touching holiday special, while Kenny just wants to humiliate Spenny. Challenges include creating a puppet show and creating an adaptation of Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol.' I'm guessing Spenny plays Scrooge.

Also This Week:

Human Target - Wednesday, Dec. 22, 8PM ET/PT, CTV/Fox

I dig this show, but rarely manage to tune in and watch it. This week, though, it might be the only series airing a fresh new episode, so I know where my remote will be tuned. The team ends up in holiday hell -- suburbia -- trying to figure out which member of a family is being targeted. This means posing as corporate bores, book club members and high school chaperones.

Man v. Food - Sunday, Dec. 26, 10AM ET/PT, OLN

One of many marathons you'll find over the next few weeks as networks burn up the time between the end of the fall season and the start of the midseason. This oddly watchable show features host Adam Richman chowing down on those menu items you often see offered for free if the customer can actually finish them.

BC Comedy Special: Global Comedians - Sunday, Dec. 26, 10PM ET/PT, Global

This comedy special isn't your usual mish-mash of stage performances, though there are plenty of jokes. Instead, it tracks Dave Foley, Jon Dore and four other comics as they describe how they got started, how they build material and how they live their lives. It was shot at the Global Comedy Fest in Vancouver.
