And the 'Survivor: Nicaragua' Winner Is ... (VIDEO)
After 39 days in the wilderness, after living through fire and rain, after the players survived stolen food and even survived NaOnka -- it was time to declare a winner on 'Survivor: Nicaragua' (Sun., 8PM ET on CBS).Five contestants entered the finale, but Dan was voted out after the first immunity challenge, and Holly -- the last female contestant -- was voted out following the second challenge. This left us with the all-male group of Chase, Fabio and Sash. And the winner of 'Survivor: Nicaragua' is ...
... Jud "Fabio" Birza! Jud nicknamed himself "Fabio" during the show, hoping that the name would make the other players think he was slow and dimwitted. But once he entered the finals, Fabio took over. He had to defeat the Chase/Holly/Sash alliance and win all three challenges to get the $1 million grand prize. And he did both.
By a vote of 5 to 4, Fabio defeated Chase and won the tense contest. After his victory, he rushed into the audience and embraced his family members and loved ones. Meanwhile, the crowd watching back in his hometown of St. Louis jumped up and down and screamed.
As Jeff Probst pointed out, this season began as a "showdown between old versus young." But in the end, it was won by the youngest champion in the show's history. Fabio, winner of the twenty-first installment of 'Survivor', is only 21 years old.
What did you think of this season's show? Do you think the right player won?
