A Shocking Result on 'Skating With the Stars': The Crowd Boos As the Finalists Are Revealed (VIDEO)
"Are you shocked?" said host Vernon Kay. But it was a rhetorical question. Everyone was shocked. It was the most controversial 'Skating With the Stars' ever. And it brought back memories of the Bristol Palin vs. Brandy debate on 'DWTS' -- as once again, the contestant with the lowest scores made it to the finals. On the new episode (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC), three stars -- Bethenny Frankel, Jonny Moseley, and Rebecca Budig -- competed for two spots in the finale. Rebecca had the highest total score, meaning the choice was between Bethenny and Jonny. But it didn't seem like much of a choice. Frankel had the lowest previous scores, the lowest total score, and she got the lowest scores for the night in every single event.
But then, the votes came in: "The couple leaving right now is ... Jonny and Brooke." The audience reacted with boos and groans. Jonny bowed his head in resignation, or annoyance. Even Bethenny looked stunned.
The reality star had beaten the Olympic skier, because the votes from the viewers at home completely negated the judges' scores. As Jonny left the show, he replied graciously as Vernon Kay asked for his reaction. Moseley first said he wasn't shocked, then grinned ruefully and corrected himself: "I guess I was a little surprised, yeah."
Tonight's finale will pit high-scorer Rebecca against lowest-scoring Bethenny. What do you think of the controversial result? Should Frankel be in the finals? And do you think the viewers will pick her as the winner, no matter what?
