And the 'Skating With the Stars' Winner Is... (VIDEO)

And the 'Skating With the Stars' Winner Is... Ever since its premiere, 'Skating With the Stars' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC) has been like an awkward cousin to the more popular 'Dancing With the Stars.' From the beginning, the show has seemed cursed: there have been pratfalls, a bloody accident, and a star who had to quit the show due to illness.

Last night, the show even had a mini-'DWTS'-style crisis. In a repeat of the Bristol Palin/Brandy fiasco, voters picked the celebrity with the lowest scores to advance to the finals. Reality star Bethenny Frankel beat Olympic skier Jonny Moseley, as the crowd booed the decision.

This meant that Bethenny faced actress Rebecca Budig on tonight's finale. Their scores would determine the winner. And so, the first-ever winner of 'Skating With the Stars' is ...

... Rebecca Budig! She and partner Fred Palascak skated to 'Hot N Cold,' by Katy Perry. Previously, the actress suffered a wrist injury while doing the routine. But this time around, she got the show's first-ever perfect score: 30 points for technique, 30 for artistic merit. Bethenny also did well, as she and Ethan Burgess skated to 'Right Round.' Earlier in the season, she got 29 points for the routine; tonight, the judges awarded her 51 points.

After Rebecca's victory, the two women had nothing but kind words for each other. Bethenny said Rebecca deserved to win, adding that Budig was good enough to be "a real ice skater." Rebecca then hoisted the "Golden Skates" prize, her arms shaking under the weight of the heavy trophy. It seemed like a metaphor for the show's shaky future -- the reality series may not be back for a second season.

Did you enjoy 'Skating With the Stars'? Do you think the show will return next year?

Well, America doesn't HAVE to give it another chance but it probably will. It's way less offensive then a lot of the "reality shows" currently on TV.

I am soooo glad I found "Hypersonic Weight Loss"! I never knew planning and eating the many choices of meals could be fun.

Ya know? Usually I flag this kind of blatant advertising spam in the comments section, but in this case, I think it's refreshing to see something other than any comments that could even remotely praise this idiocy the network dreamt up.
