Jack Black Sings His Own Walk-On Music on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' (VIDEO)

Jack Black, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Many fans of Jack Black's film work, especially younger ones, may be unfamiliar with his roots in music. The actor decided to remind them, thanks to a suggestion from 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' (Weeknights, 12:35AM on NBC) bandleader Questlove. And what better way to showcase his abilities than with Dio's 1983 rock anthem, "Holy Diver."

Black was in fine form, running around the stage and into the audience, and even climbing atop Fallon's desk for his grand finale. While his love of comedy is readily apparent in everything he does, it was nice to see him embracing his musical side.

Black rose to fame as part of the musical comedy duo Tenacious D, alongside lead guitarist Kyle Gass. He'd had small roles on television and in film prior to the success of Tenacious D, but it was his growing fame as a musician that led to the leading roles he later achieved, and all of his success now.

It was great seeing him clearly having fun, and sounding fantastic. We hope he never walks completely away from his musical side, as he has far too much talent in it and it clearly brings him job, just as it does us.

Jack Black's best work in his entire career was Tenacious D's first album. Nothing he has done has matched it. Not even his best film in my opinion, School of Rock.
