Welcome to 'The Real Housewives of New York City,' Cindy Barshop. After months of rumors, Bravo has confirmed that the owner of Completely Bare day spas is the newest member of the reality series. According to the New York Post, Barshop will debut at the beginning of the fourth season in February.
"She has an organic connection to the cast," Christian Barcellos, vice president of programming at Bravo, told the Post. "She's friends with Ramona [Singer] and has connections to Kelly [Bensimon]. They all run in the same circles."
Barshop, a single mom of twins, has celebrity clients that include 'Jersey Shore' stars The Situation and Pauly D. Her spa business began on Long Island in 1998 and has since expanded to Manhattan, Palm Beach and Scarsdale. She'll replace Bethenny Frankel, who is starring in a second season of 'Bethenny Getting Married?'
"She brings a distinct flavor to the ensemble," Barcellos said. "This show is about self-actualized women -- and I think viewers will enjoy getting to know and see [Barshop]."
Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, LuAnn de Lesseps, Kelly Bensimon and Sonja Morgan are all returning for a fourth season.
The third season of 'Real Housewives of NYC' attracted an average of 2.02 million viewers, 1.38 million in the 18-49 demographic. Last season saw the addition of Morgan and also featured Jennifer Gilbert.
