Whoopi is right on this issue, but I am tired of her and Joy Behar acting like they are poticial, spiritual, moral, ethics experts above all of the rest of us. If she could pick and chose her stands with more judiciousness, and spoke with more class and knowledge, then she might have more of an positive impact on some occassions. Instead, she appears arrogant, slovenly, filled with bitterness, bigotted, racist, and other tags that have grown with her tenure on the view. Whoopi and Joy are 10 times worse than their much maligned former panelist. Too waste an opportunity to be a force for good, rather than ego tripping and defending the failures of Obama as though he is a god, and it is sacrilage to disagree or mock him. Sorry, he has failed. I KNEW IT! HE NEEDED AT LEAST 8 MORE YEARS TO MATURE AND DEVELOP CRITICAL SKILLS BEFORE TRYING FOR THE PRESIDENCY. They played games to push Hilary away from the job....all the good old democratic boys and Oprah. As a life long democrat, I am so upset to see all of this failure to make changes wisely. And, I am upset that after a life time of working and a life time of being an idealist and good social values, I am about to suffer losses because Obama is sacrificing seniors in order to help the poor (the seniors who are part of the poor), for he was too cowardly to make the rich pay for improved social programs. I am waiting to see Joy and Whoopi fall of their "Faux Liberal Pedsestal." In your cushy little lives, you have no clue. What are you doing, really, to make a difference? I never hear about donations, advocacy...just smack about everyone you don't like. It was nobody's business that Whoopi had abortions. 99% of the women I know who had abortions agonized over the choice. Only one person I know had 2 kids by 2 baby daddies and was pregnant again, unmarried and pregnant by a 3rd man...active in her church, who aborted the 3rd like it was just a common urination. I would not want to see those good women suffer because of the one morally lacking woman.

Can anyone possibly justify comparing "CHILD RAPE" by a Catholic priest to infidelity (consented sexual activity with another adult) by a married minister? Infidelity should NEVER be accepted, but when has any innocent child had a choice in the decision to be raped by the most disgusting form of human flesh....a pedophile Catholic priest? Ignorance is bliss! And in regard to the nun who so honorably saved the life of a "living and breathing" mother of "living" and "needing" children.....Kudos! Now that she has been released from the grips of the Catholic church, she will be able to perform as many heroic, caring, life embracing deeds as her conscience deems necessary. Those who believe only in the written word of a book that will NEVER be able to be proven factual have no ability to think on their own. Just for once people, PLEASE use some common sense!

I don't understand why everyone wants to bring god into their side of this argument about abortion. The Christian god is definitely NOT pro life. He is a god that has killed unborn babies, many new born children and their mothers. This is in YOUR stupid fucking bible! Don't pick and choose parts that you like. Your god is a horrible, vengeful and hateful god. Own up to it and shut up! If god says it's ok to kill unborn and new born babies then it ok. And in case you want to argue this point, here are the verses in your bible that back up my statement...


    Numbers 5:11-21 The description of a bizarre, brutal and abusive ritual to be performed on a wife SUSPECTED of adultery.  This is considered to be an induced abortion to rid a woman of another man's child.
Numbers 31:17 (Moses) "Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every women that hath known man by lying with him."  In other words: women that might be pregnant, which clearly is abortion for the fetus.
Hosea 13:16 God promises to dash to pieces the infants of Samaria and the "their women with child shall be ripped up".  Once again this god kills the unborn, including their pregnant mothers.
2 Kings 15:16 God allows the pregnant women of Tappuah (aka Tiphsah) to be "ripped open". And the Christians have the audacity to say god is pro-life. How and the hell is it that Christians can read passages where God allows pregnant women to be murdered, yet still claim abortion is wrong?
1 Samuel 15:3 God commands the death of helpless "suckling" infants.  This literally means that the children god killed were still nursing.
Psalms 135:8 & 136:10 Here god is praised for slaughtering little babies.
Psalms 137:9 Here god commands that infants should be "dashed upon the rocks".

So do not say that abortion is a crime against god because it is very clear in your bible that he is ALL FOR IT!!

Thank goodness God is in control and NOT Bishop Olmstead. Abortion exists because God invented it. Make no mistake, it's not for everyone, but it is there to protect women from the horrors man puts upon women. The Catholic Church lies that EVERY abortion ends in cut up babies. It is false propaganda to try to further your position on the matter. Not all abortion ends this way and you know it. I am not fooled. As Bishop Olmstead sits in judgment over others, he shall be so judged. If you don't agree with abortion, that's ok. But what are you personally doing to pay for the unwanted babies being born? Absolutely nothing. You pontificate about abortion yet do nothing to create a solution. Until you have something constructive to say you need to shut up and sit down. Excommunication is for those who are unrepentant of their actions. The nun and the hospital are not. Please take the time to read Bishop Olmsted's letter on why he did what he did. The reasons are abundantly clear from a Catholic position. I make no excuses for the pedophile Priest situation. It was wrong and needs correction. However, for the Church to excommunicate them, the accused must be obstinate and unrepentant as well. They need to receive due punishment for their sins, but as far as I know, they did not remain obstinate. Therefore, Whoopi's point is a bit of a "straw man" or a false set up.

I hope Whoopi's comment on her abortions means she has repented of them when she says she made "peace with God" and isn't more about justifying her actions to God.

Make no mistake--Abortion is murder and if we can't see the images of chopped up baby parts and recognize that you are choosing for someone whether they get to live or not, you are even more blinded than those who saw the whip marks on the backs of the slaves and still approved of slavery so many years ago.

Notice that it has always been the mark of the devil to de-humanize people: slavery, the holocaust, abortion, euthanasia, eugenics as Planned Parenthood's founder Margaret Sanger supported, etc.

Thank God Bishop Olmsted has taken a stand in this "culture of death" and provided some light in the darkness. In the end, Truth will prevail because God is in control!
