Dr. Oz Advises Regis Philbin to Quit Drinking and Loosen His Pants on 'Ask Oprah's All-Stars' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 3rd 2011 2:27AM
Regis Philbin, 'Ask Oprah's All-Stars'Oprah Winfrey premiered her network over this holiday weekend, and one of the debut programs was the limited run series 'Ask Oprah's All-Stars' (Sun. 8PM on OWN), featuring three of the names Winfrey helped make famous: Suze Orman, Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz.

Regis Philbin sent in a video with a question for Dr. Oz. Fans of 'Live With Regis & Kelly' know that Philbin struggles at times with heartburn, or acid reflux. So he asked Dr. Oz to provide him a "homemade concoction" to get him through it.

Dr. Oz suggested aloe vera as a good home remedy, but more significantly he had some other advice for Philbin, and really anyone having this problem.

First, Philbin has to give up the alcohol, and then he has to drop the belt and loosen his pants. The tightness around the stomach area "squeezes the acid back up into the esophagus," according to Oz.

In other words, if we soon see Reeg rocking a sweatsuit on the set of his show, we'll know he's just taking his doctor's advice. Who says he has to wear a tailored suit every day to be entertaining and informative? In fact, by this logic, the sweatsuit will make him look smarter, as it proves he knows how to manage his acid reflux properly and safely.

Regis Philbin, what a tired old hack. I can't believe people actually see this lame show in the morning with Ole Kelly hiking up her skirt. Lame, pretty lame.

Acid reflux can be controlled by proper food and no acidic drinks, especially alcohol. Drink coffee only from 6 a.m. to 12 noon only. taking antacids everyday is not too good. You might lack acid to digest food. Any food that create flatulance should be avoided. I am not a medical doctor but I can explain my experience as a patient. Herbo Mineral medicine Sal Phos half hour before the food and Gastromone immediately after food is wonderful. It can be taken for long term. Homeopathic medicine, NV before going to sleep and S first in the morning (empty stomach) can help. Consult a homeopathy doctor. People who suffer from acid reflex wake up between 3 and 3.30 a.m. Drink a cup of hot water and go to sleep like a baby. You need guidance from experts to re-arrange your living habits.

AT ONE TIME I HAD WHAT DOCTORS CALLED A HIATEL HERNIA. I BELIEVE IT WAS ACID REFLUX AND IT HURT
A LOT. I SMOKED AT THAT TIME AND I BELIEVE IT WAS
DUE TO THAT. THIS WAS ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO AND THE
DOCTORS SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME.
I DRANK A CUP OF HOT WATER, SOFTENED AND DISTILLED, (OLD WIVE`S TALE), COFFEE DIDN`T WORK,AND THE PAIN WENT AWAY IMMEDIATELY. NOT SAYING IT WOULD WORK FOR EVERYONE BUT IT WORKED FOR ME.
