Lost'Lost' and 'Heroes' ended their series runs on top -- on top of the most-pirated shows list of 2010.

According to TorrentFreak.com, 'Lost' logged 5.94 million illegal downloads for a single episode. 'Heroes,' a show with much lower Nielsen ratings, had an episode downloaded 5.48 million times.

The two dramas both had intense fan followings, yet 'Lost' won over critics season after season and maintained decent, though declining, Nielsen ratings. During its time on the air, 'Heroes' suffered a steep loss in both critical acclaim and viewers.

'Lost' was seen by an estimated 13.57 million viewers, 'Heroes' by 5.3 million, meaning more people downloaded 'Heroes' then viewing it.

The rest of the list is below.

• 'Dexter' with 3.88 million downloads and 2.54 million estimated viewers.
• 'The Big Bang Theory' with 3.27 million downloads and 16.31 million estimated viewers.
• 'House' with 2.61 million downloads and 14.21 million estimated viewers.
• 'How I Met Your Mother' with 2.49 million downloads and 10.52 million estimated viewers
• '24' with 2.24 million downloads and 11.5 million estimated viewers.
• 'True Blood' with 1.92 million downloads and 5.44 million estimated viewers.
• 'Glee' with 1.7 million downloads and 13.66 million estimated viewers.
• 'Family Guy' with 1.62 million downloads and 7.730 million estimated viewers.

According to TorrentFreak, the amount of downloads has declined in the US because of Hulu and networks hosting full episodes on their official sites.

In December, Pirate Bay released a list of their most downloaded shows (not of the year) and 'True Blood' and 'Dexter' were featured on that list as well.

I'd pay to watch Dexter weekly if the cable/satellite providers in my area were even remotely fair. I can't even add most of the "premium" content without first increasing my basic cable ($30/month) to their VIP packages ($85+), and then paying X dollars more over and above that.
