Paul Giamatti Uses an 11-Letter Word for Onion-y Rogue on 'The Daily Show' (VIDEO)

Paul Giamatti, 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart''The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM on COM) is a show that deals with a lot of smart topics and ideas. But tonight we learned that if you're stuck for an answer on a crossword puzzle, it might be a good idea to check in with Paul Giamatti.

It took Jon Stewart and one of his crewmen together to figure out the answer to an audience member's question before the taping. She asked for an 11-letter word for "an onion-y rogue." Sure, they guys were able to come up with it, but only after thinking about it for a moment.

The coincidence of the year -- it's early still so we're going to go ahead and call it -- came later when Giamatti used that very word in everyday conversation.

He insists he hadn't seen the warm-up question and answer session. Stewart asked him how he makes some of the characters he play still come across as likable and Giamatti's response was, "He's a lovable rogue. He's a rapscallion."

That was pretty close, Paul, but he wasn't a lovable rogue. He was an "onion-y" rogue. But you're lovable with your crossword vocabulary!
