'Pretty Little Liars' Winter Premiere: Which Secrets Were Revealed?

by Jean Bentley, posted Jan 4th 2011 10:15AM
'Pretty Little Liars'A hushed silence that descended last night upon the ABC Family-equipped homes of teen girls (and those who love television made for teen girls). Why? The mid-season premiere of 'Pretty Little Liars,' obvs.

No shame here -- 'PLL' is the best kind of addicting TV, revealing just enough info each week to keep us on the hook. Though the identity of both A and Alison's killer are still unknown -- you didn't really think they'd let that slip yet, did you? -- a bunch of juicy info came to light during last night's episode.

Aria finally told her friends that she and Mr. Fitz -- Ezra, as she calls him -- are dating. Now the girls know -- but shockingly, their reaction can only be described as mild disapproval. No scolding? No squeals? No fun!

Emily told her parents she was gay. Her tough guy military dad handled it pretty well. The coming out story has been told several times this season on various teen dramas, but it's the first for a girl. Kudos to ABC Family (and the writers) for giving teen girls a gay role model -- though someone with a little more backbone would've been nice.

Melissa and Ian eloped. If she was going to pick one guy who made out with her little sister, I would've gone with the hottie with the British accent. But maybe that's just me. Girlfriend really needs to find some dudes who aren't attracted to Spencer.

Tell us: What did you think of the premiere?
