Conservatives Sean Hannity and Rich Lowry Are Worried About John Boehner's Crying Habit (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Jan 5th 2011 3:25PM
Republican congressman John Boehner, who just became the 61st Speaker of House, has a well-demonostrated propensity to well up with tears whenever he gets the slightest bit emotional. This often happens when he's on-camera, or giving speeches on the House floor.

Boehner's crying became a topic of discussion on 'Hannity' (weekdays, 9 PM ET Fox News), as dyed-in-the-wool conservatives Sean Hannity and Rich Lowry agreed that the publicly-shed tears were bound to turn into a problem for Boehner.

"I think because of what is going to become a running attack on him, I wish he wouldn't (cry)," Hannity said.

Rich Lowry, editor of the conservative news magazine 'The National Review' was more blunt in his assessment of Boehner's tears:

"Sean, let's be honest here, men who cry in public all the time are going to be made fun of, and probably should be."

Ouch, fellas. So has Boehner lost Fox News and the National Review already? Excuse us while we shed one lonely tear for the new Speaker.

Hannity is worried it will become a running attack because he knows it's what he would aim for (and encourage his listeners to aim for) if this were a Democrat. I can hear the quips now: "He's taking this bleeding heart thing to new heights!" or "We always knew they were weak-kneed; it's nice to have the visual proof!" I'm sure he'd say it all with glee. He knows himself is why he's worried. These pundits (left/right) are parodies of themselves, and Hannity is no exception.

I can see getting chocked up but crying on a regular basis is just weird. What is up with Boehner and the water works?? Alcohol, alcohol, alcohol!

I am not interested. I look to how people vote, not personalities. I am no more interested than when a wonderful deal was made of Hillary Clinton getting emotional.
