Michele Bachmann Plays Coy on Her Presidential Run (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Jan 6th 2011 8:00PM
Rumors of Michele Bachmann's presidential ambitions have begun to swirl, and the Minnesota congresswoman did nothing to dispel them during an appearance 'On the Record With Greta Van Susteren' (weekdays, 10PM ET on Fox News.)

At first Bachmann attributed the talk of a 2012 run to the fact she that is scheduled to make a series of speeches in Iowa, a state with a first-in-the-nation caucus that makes it an essential stop for anyone considering a presidential bid. Then when Van Susteren asked her point blank if she was running, Bachmann responded with a non-answer that began "I am not focused on my personal ambitions ..."

You haven't said no," Van Susteren pressed further. "What would convince you that maybe you should run for president and what would discourage you?

"I just think that's the wrong question to ask for the next year," Bachmann deflected.

Because of her looks, her Tea Party sensibilities and her Northern accent, Bachmann is often likened to Sarah Palin. Which raises the possibility that she's keeping rumors of a presidential bid alive long enough just to score her very own reality TV show.
