Pretty Little LiarsIt looks like A's sticking around to terrorize the girls of 'Pretty Little Liars' a little while longer -- ABC Family announced today that the freshman show, along with veteran series 'Secret Life of the American Teenager,' have been given early season renewals.

'Pretty Little Liars' will be back for season 2 and 'Secret Life' for season 4 during the 2011-12 season. The announcement was made during ABC Family's panel at the Television Critics Association press tour. Earlier in the day, ABC announced the renewal of six of its flagship shows.

'Pretty Little Liars' debuted to 2.47 million viewers in June of 2010. Last week's winter premiere was seen by almost double that amount, with 4.20 million viewers tuning in to the mid-season premiere.

The series, based on the novels by Sara Shepard, follows four girls whose clique loses its queen bee, only to later be terrorized by the person who may have killed their friend. Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Holly Marie Combs, Lucy Hale, Ian Harding, Laura Leighton, Chad Lowe, Shay Mitchell and Sasha Pieterse star.

ABC Family's 'Secret Life of the American Teenager' has been a ratings hit for the network. Its summer premiere was seen by 3.18 million viewers, its fall finale by 3.03 million. Series stars include Shailene Woodley, Megan Park, Ken Baumann, Mark Derwin, Steve Schirripa and Molly Ringwald.

Both shows pull in high ratings in the advertiser's dream demographic: women between 18-49, often besting its competition on networks like The CW.
