Fox Renews 'Raising Hope' for Season 2

by Jean Bentley, posted Jan 11th 2011 12:45PM
Raising HopeFox is keeping the hope alive this morning. The network just announced that it has given an early season 2 pickup to freshman comedy 'Raising Hope.'

"'Raising Hope' has emerged as a comedic standout: wickedly smart, hilarious and full of heart," said Fox President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly. "Greg Garcia and his great cast have established an appointment show on Tuesday nights this season, and we're confident it's just the beginning of great things to come."

No surprise here -- TV Squad's own Joel Keller called the new series, about a clueless twentysomething single dad raising his daughter with help from his eccentric family, "the best new comedy on TV" this season.

Creator Greg Garcia said in a statement, "I'm happy that the show is getting another year. But the fact that I've been trying to think of a funny quote for the last two hours and this is the best I could come up with makes me a little nervous about season 2."

The show's next new episode airs Feb. 8 at 9PM ET.

Tell us: Are you happy 'Raising Hope' is getting a second season?

When I heard the news, I think I was more excited than some of the other fans of the show. I was happy and now it’s going to grace my TV screen tonight and show me how comedy is supposed to be. I was a fan of “My Name is Earl” but it lost that “umph” for me and I stopped watching towards the end but I’d recommend this show to anyone who asks because it’s just that good! I’m normally not at home on Tuesdays but I definitely won’t miss the show because I can watch it on my phone using the DISH Remote Access app. The app works with DISH Network’s Sling Technology and I can watch live and pre-recorded shows and I don’t even have to be at home. The DRA app allows me to watch live and pre-recoded shows and I don’t even have to be at home. It’s compatible with Apple and Android Mobile Devices and comes with a free download from the App Store and Android Market. As long as I stay connected to my 3G network, I will always have my TV with me. Now that I work at DISH, I’m always recommending that people check it out and experience a value unseen by any other provider!

I just can't get enough of this show and I actually watch this before Glee! Cloris Leachman is a riot! I'm so glad Network Solutions is using her in their Go Granny video!
