This week on 'The Early Show' (Weekdays, 7AM on CBS), the hosts are participating in the "Comfort Food Cook-Off." Today, they focused on ice cream, and the show's regular food expert, Gail Simmons, started off making her favorite flavor of ice cream, banana chocolate chip."I'm going to make a really simple, quick version," she said. But it proved to be easier said than done. As Jeff Glor explained why he didn't have an apron (punishment for yesterday's poor showing in a grilled cheese competition), Simmons had a problem putting the top on her blender.
"Why won't this close?" she asked, trying to press down the top from every angle. Co-host Chris Wragge finally Chris Wragge eventually gave her an assist and snapped the pesky top into place. So if you're making this at home, you'll need your three bananas, milk, sugar, salt, cream, vanilla extract, a blender, an ice cream maker, and Chris Wragge. And always be sure that your blender top is securely fastened before blending.
