'Law & Order: Los Angeles' Cast Changes Confirmed
As we reported earlier, 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' is undergoing a cast shake-up after a slow start this fall, with stars Skeet Ulrich, Reginal Hall and Megan Boone departing the show.Creator Dick Wolf has now revealed his plan to revamp the new spin-off series. After Ulrich departs in episode 14 (likely to air sometime in March), Alfred Molina's D.D.A. Ricardo Morales will return to his former job as a detective and team up with Corey Stoll's Det. TJ Jaruszalski. Meanwhile, Terrence Howard's D.D.A Jonah Dekker now will be the lead prosecutor.
Molina and Howard previously traded off episodes; both will now appear every week.
"We have the fortune of two world class actors on 'LOLA,' and it was frustrating to have one on the bench every week. It would be like having Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as your quarterbacks, playing alternate games," Wolf said in the statement.
The show is also reportedly seeking a new actress to play an ADA under Dekker.
Since it debuted to 10.6 million viewers, 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' has flagged in the ratings. And while Wolf has been known to tweak the casts of his shows, this drastic of a change so early on in the series' run is unusual. Still, the restructuring will lead to a show format that more resembles the others in the 'L&O' franchise, with a lead prosecutor and a lead detective team splitting time.
Tell us: What do you think of the changes to 'LOLA'?
