Lauren Ambrose of 'Six Feet Under' has taken a role in the upcoming fourth season of 'Torchwood,' which will air this July on Starz.

She'll play Jilly Kitzinger, a public-relations maven whose charming demeanor masks a steely will. In 'Torchwood: Miracle Day,' she'll line up the most important client of her career -- and as the season progresses she comes to find out just how important that client is.

Ambrose will appear in seven of the 10 episodes of 'Torchwood: Miracle Day.'


The new season of the adventurous sci-fi drama began production in Los Angeles this week. Other cast members include Mekhi Phifer, Bill Pullman and Dichen Lachman, in addition to the series' stars, John Barrowman and Eve Myles.

'Torchwood' creator Russell T Davies shared details on the new season of 'Torchwood' in this recent interview. Though the drama began life as a spinoff of the British stalwart 'Doctor Who,' the new season of 'Torchwood' will have an international flavor and much of it will take place in the United States.
