Meet The Cast Of 'Perfect Couples' (VIDEOS)

by Ryan McKee, posted Jan 13th 2011 7:00PM

On Jan. 20, NBC is revamping its heralded "Must-See TV" Thursday nights with a new three-hour comedy block. Joining 'Community,' 'The Office,' '30 Rock' and 'Outsourced' will be the return of 'Parks and Recreation' and the brand-new show 'Perfect Couples.'

So far the new sitcom appears to be NBC's answer to their rival ABC's runaway success, 'Modern Family.' Both shows feature three different families of normal, yet surprisingly quirky, upper-middle-class characters; 'Perfect Couples' is simply the younger version. Whether the show is in reaction to the other or not, the three separate, interconnecting story lines do allow for a lot of quick jokes.

While 'Modern Family' introduced us to a number of new actors, the cast of six should be familiar to TV fans. David Walton, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Christine Woods, Kyle Bornheimer, Hayes MacArthur and Olivia Munn all have had their fair share of small screen time.

Mary Elizabeth Ellis
You Know Her From: 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'
The Lowdown: We first become aware of Ellis as the waitress Charlie is infatuated with on 'It's Always Sunny.' Known only as The Waitress in the credits, she most likely landed the role since she's married to Charlie Day in real life. No matter how she got the gig, she's proven her comedy chops and now may become more famous than her husband.

David Walton
You Know Him From: 'Heist,' 'Quarterlife,' '100 Questions'
The Lowdown: Walton gained national attention after starring in the teen comedy romp 'Fired Up' in 2009. He must fancy himself a comedic actor judging from his Funny or Die videos. However, his comedy career on TV has been shaky at best, with '100 Questions' being canceled after six episodes. Hopefully, this show redeems him.

Olivia Munn
You Know Her From: 'Attack of the Show!,' 'The Daily Show'
The Lowdown: Half Chinese, half German-Irish and all 'Maxim' cover girl, Munn stole the hearts of adolescent nerds everywhere when she began co-hosting 'Attack of the Show!' on G4. Liking her charisma and quick wit, 'The Daily Show' added Munn as a correspondent. This drew ire from critics who considered her more sex symbol than comedian. However, that hasn't slowed Munn down one bit.

Hayes MacArthur
You Know Him From: Comedy Central's 'Premium Blend,' National Lampoon's 'Homo Erectus'
The Lowdown: Married in real life to Ali Larter ('Heroes'), MacArthur is a standup comedy anomaly. He's attractive, he can act well and he's a jock, playing four seasons with the Bowdoin College Polar Bears football team and setting the school's all-time passing record for football.

Christine Woods
You Know Her From: 'Flash Forward'
The Lowdown: Woods appeared in a number of one-episode roles for 'CSI: Miami,' 'House' and 'How I Met Your Mother,' before landing a part on the main cast of 'FlashForward.' She caused a small pop culture stir by playing a sexy lesbian FBI agent, with an even sexier lesbian lover.

Kyle Bornheimer
You Know Him From: 'Worst Week,' 'You Again'
The Lowdown: Described by one critic, who will remain nameless, as "the new Bob Newhart," Bornheimer catapulted from relative obscurity to starring in the short-lived sitcom, 'Worst Week.' We're not sure why the Newhart comparison was made since Bornheimer's comedic style is much bigger and louder. It's what made him one of the most-cast commercial actors in the last decade with such campaigns as Geico, Staples, Coors Light, Imodium, and T-Mobile.

Are you excited for the premiere of 'Perfect Couples'?
