Stephen Colbert loves the film 'American Beauty.' However, he wants some explanation. Who better to ask than Kevin Spacey, who won a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of the movie's suburban patriarch Lester Burnham?

"I'm a 46-year-old guy. According to your performance in that movie, I'm supposed to drop out, start smoking dope and work in a Burger King window, and that's beautiful," said the host on 'The Colbert Report' (weeknights, 11:30PM ET on COM). "We all should just be staring at plastic bags," he added (as do two teenagers in the film).

"Isn't that your day job?" Spacey replied with a smirk. The host countered, "You realize the entire time you're talking to me, I'm just picturing you naked with rose petals all over your body," referring to Lester's fantasies about a high school cheerleader.
