The Mob Once Repaid Larry King at the Horse Track (VIDEO)

Larry King Talks The Mob on 'Late Late'Many years ago, Larry King emceed a benefit for a man named "Boom Boom" Giorno. After the event, the guy said, "We owe you a favor ... We don't like to owe favors." King said not to worry about it, but he persisted.

"He said five words: 'Got anybody you don't like?'" King recalled on 'The Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). King considered his general manager at the station where he worked at the time. "I saved his life that night," he joked.

But the mobster did repay King eventually. He received a phone call one day, and the mysterious voice said, "Apple Tree in the third today" at the local horse track. What did King do? He went to the track, and put all his money on a horse named Apple Tree.

DO NOT BELIEVE IT! Let's not forget, this is a guy who lied about meeting Sandy Cofax in his book. Sandy Cofax said himself that it was a complete and total lie. Larry King is not a "nice" person. The reason why his last marriage fell apart (marriage number 9?) was because he was sleeping with his wife's sister. Stop the Larry King worship........

i grew up in a mafia run city ,we had one of the biggest italian populations in nys but the city was much safer then. at least the crime was "oraganized" now it's like the "wild west" since the older timers were put in jail or died off. The nyc bust was a big mistake-I wonder how much Larry won on the race.
