TLC Plans Royal Wedding Coverage, USA Orders Two Series and More

Kate Middleton, Prince William, Royal WeddingAnglophiles looking for to-the-minute coverage of April's royal wedding, look no further: TLC has you covered.

The network announced today that it plans to air five full days of coverage leading up to the highly anticipated event. That includes, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "specials, interviews with royals, a round-table discussion with experts and a show focusing on 'extreme' collectors of royal memorabilia."

Of course, TLC will also broadcast the wedding live.

In other TV news ...

The girls of 'Make It or Break It' will handspring their way back onto TV screens beginning March 28. ABC Family announced today that the gymnastics show's midseason premiere will immediately follow 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' on the same day. [ABC Family]

USA has ordered two new shows to series. Both 'A Legal Mind' and 'Necessary Roughness' received 11-episode orders, and each will air a 90-minute pilot. [Deadline]

The schedule for PaleyFest 2011 was officially revealed today, and it's making us seriously consider buying a plane ticket to Los Angeles for the second week of March. It features panels with Jimmy Fallon, 'Parks and Recreation' and 'Raising Hope,' and the casts of 'Freaks & Geeks' and 'Undeclared' will officially reunite on March 12. [Paley Center]

ESPN and the University of Texas have struck a deal to create a new network dedicated to the school. It'll be staffed by ESPN, and will air exclusive games and programs about the university. [Variety]

Michael Imperioli isn't too certain that 'Detroit 1-8-7' will last beyond this season. "I'm not overly confident about it," he said of the show's renewal chances. "We're doing the best we can do. The work has been really good. So I'm not complaining." [Entertainment Weekly]
