William H. Macy Talks About His 'Shameless' College Antics (VIDEO)

On Showtime's 'Shameless,' William H. Macy plays Frank, the (often drunken) single father of six kids. When Macy visited 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS), the host asked whether the actor had ever done anything "shameless" when he'd been drinking.

Back in college, Macy went on a big bender out in the country with some buddies. Early the next morning the dorm's guard threatened to have Macy's truck towed if he didn't move it.

He painfully made his way downstairs ("Oh, I was in bad shape") and couldn't get the front door to open all the way. "I stick my head out -- there's my truck on the third step ... I drove up onto the porch!"

But the gate had been locked overnight. "We searched for tire tracks -- nobody knows how we got the truck in there."
