Mike Scolds Marcel in Front of 'Top Chef All Stars' Judges (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jan 20th 2011 8:10AM
Marcel Fights with Mike on 'Top Chef All Stars'On 'Top Chef All Stars' (Wed., 10PM ET on BRVO), the contestants were divided into two teams and challenged with setting up pop-up restaurants. Marcel attempted to captain his team. But since no one enjoys working with him, the result was a disorganized mess.

Mike and Marcel had a fight on the line that evening and later had it out again in front of the judges. "Why do you think everything's messed up? Because you weren't strong enough to do two things at once," said Mike.

Marcel countered, "You haven't worked the line in, like, years and were moving at a snail's pace." Mike remained unintimidated. "You did a poor job. No one wants to say anything because you're a time bomb." The judges eventually agreed and sent Marcel packing.

Marcel, may be psychotically arrogant, he's not a bad person. While I personally like him, he did fail as a leader and cooked 2 really bad dishes. He deserved to go home… http://foodiegossip.blogspot.com/2011/01/top-chef-all-stars-dale-vs-marcel.html
But still, I REALLY hope Dale is next. At least Marcel was funny. Dale is just plain mean.

I fully agree with Mike's comments. Marcel is vainglorious, narcissistic, and utterly egocentric. He was all about himself, and his denial of his own miserable performance as a chef throughout the season to date was really sad.
I really took issue with the Top Chef judges awarding Richard for making potato chips for crying out loud. What a joke this program has become. I also did not support their ragging on Angelo. The poor guy gets trashed if he helps others and trashed if he doesn't. It seems that the deck is stacked against him, and I really resent this bias. Angelo has been consistent throughout the show and has won two challenges. He is soft spoken, and tries his best to be a consensus builder. Apparently the judges don't watch the filming, or they have already made up their minds to not allow Angelo to win. I am beginning to hate this show, in addition to the intolerably arrogant Anthony Bourdain.
