Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Tried Playing It Cool When He Met Leonardo DiCaprio (VIDEO)

Mike Sorrentino, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'Celebrities are just like us. Right? Well, maybe not in most regards, but at least we can get some small comfort in knowing that reality celebrities are perhaps more like us. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino may be a big deal to fans of 'Jersey Shore,' but underneath that six-pack is a regular guy who gets starstruck just like the rest of us.

He related a tale of playing it cool when he met Leonardo DiCaprio on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM on NBC). But even before he got into the story, you could see that genuine nervousness at just talking about it that you never see from all those polished celebrities that parade through.

Dare we say it was endearing?

According to Sorrentino, Kevin Connolly ('Entourage') introduced the two of them at a club, but he didn't tell Sorrentino who he was introducing him to. He just said, "I want to introduce you to somebody."

So Sorrentino sauntered across the club with his full guido swagger saying things to himself like, "I'm Mr. Situation. I'm in the club. What's up?" and "Yeah, somebody wants to meet me, you know."

So he was completely unprepared when he arrived at the VIP table and DiCaprio looked up from under a ball cap and said, "GTL all day!" -- a reference to Sorrentino's mantra of gym, tan, laundry.

Sorrentino says he played it cool, but based on the sheepish and even somewhat shy young man we saw tonight, we're not so sure. Unless, of course, he was a few drinks deep which, let's face it, given he was in a club is more than likely. So, yeah, maybe he played it cool. Or head-butted someone.
