Jay Leno Surprises 100-Year-Old Twins With Their Favorite Celebrity, Carol Burnett (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 21st 2011 3:03AM
Carol Burnet & 100-Year Old Twins, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'People always talk about how they'd be willing to wait a long time to meet certain celebrities, or people they really admire. One set of twins had to wait 100 years to meet their celebrity idol, and they didn't even see it coming.

Centenarian twins Inez Harries and Venice Shaw were on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 10:35PM on NBC) to talk about their story and their longevity. Then they were treated to a real surprise when Jay Leno mentioned that he'd read they were fans of Carol Burnett.

"Did you meet her?" he asked them.

"No," they responded.

"Would you like to?"

He then brought out, to their delight, the comic legend. As it turns out, Burnett was as excited about meeting them as they were her.

She talked about reading their story in the paper. "Then I got farther down into the article and they said I was their favorite entertainer," she said. "I burst into tears."

It was a sweet moment that clearly meant a lot to all three women. The soft-spoken twins couldn't stop smiling and looking at Burnett, and she seemed absolutely charmed by both of them. Perhaps we witnessed the blossoming of new friendships tonight.

Sarah Palin is an idiot..."Sputnik Moment" does NOT signify a celebration of winning! It WARNS that the U.S. is falling behind AGAIN...that if we don't invest in our children and education and innovation that we will RECREATE our Sputnik experience with China this time!! Good Lord woman! You're a moron!
