Matt LeBlanc Talks About Rumors of His Death and Other Lies That Have Spread About Him (VIDEO)

It must be a lot of fun having to do damage control on rumors that come out of nowhere and either put words in your mouth, tell of things that never happened, or even worse. Matt LeBlanc has seen his fair share of them in his encounters with the paparazzi over the years. He shared some of those with 'Chelsea Lately' (Thu., 11PM on E!).

At one point, post-'Friends,' word began to spread that LeBlanc was sensitive about being associated with his 'Friends' character Joey. Quotes he says he never said began to circulate. "Don't you dare call me that," he was reported to have said, and "I've moved past that now."

"Who talks like that?" LeBlanc asked Chelsea Handler. Plus, "Where were the pictures? Those guys don't take a s*** without their camera."

Probably the most challenging was early in the 'Friends' run, when he was reported to have died. "There was a rumor that you overdosed and died last night," his publicist told him after her relief in finding him still alive.

"Is that why I can hear a helicopter over my house?" he asked, before realizing that he probably needed to call his mother. In fact, it probably led to a day of pointless phone calls to stop an unfounded rumor from spiraling out of control.

Of course, in the era of the blogosphere, all he would have had to do was walk outside in his underwear, or less, and pictures would have been plastered all over the Internet within minutes. That would have settled the debate of his well-being. It might, in fact, have settled some other debates as well.
