'Jersey Shore' Heading to Italy for Season 4
The Macaroni Rascals of 'Jersey Shore' are heading to the homeland. That's right: They're going to Italy ... b*tch!According to TMZ, the next season of the ratings smash will take place in Italy. The network is currently scouting Italian shooting locations, and the cast will visit Vinny Guadagnino's relatives for some authentic Italian eats.
The trip abroad has apparently been in the works for two months -- that's how long ago execs began working on obtaining visas for the cast and crew, TMZ reports.
The current season has been earning record-breaking ratings for MTV. Last Thursday's episode drew the most viewers for a series telecast ever. (The season premiere telecast held the record for two whole weeks.)
The Italian pilgrimage sounds similar to the trip 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' made last year, so the Italians should be semi-prepared for the invasion soon to take place on their soil. Besides, we already know they watch the show.
Last winter the cast headed to Miami, but somehow those episodes just didn't have as much magic as the Jersey Shore–set ones. We're hoping that was only because of the snooze-worthy Ronnie and Sammi drama, and not because the Macaroni Rascals thrive only in their natural environment.
Tell us: What do you think of an Italy-set season? Should the 'Jersey Shore' gang even be allowed to have passports?!
