New 'Vampire Diaries' Billboards Want You to 'Catch VD'

The Vampire Diaries, VD, TVDNow here's a suggestive advertising campaign we don't hear the Parents Television Council complaining about ... yet.

Entertainment Weekly reports that new billboards erected along Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles and Times Square in New York advertising The CW's 'Vampire Diaries' read simply "Catch VD." (Click over there for the photos.)

The plain-text versions will supposedly be replaced soon with ones that show a cast photo and tune-in information (Thursdays at 8PM ET starting this week, not that we're extremely excited about it or anything).

This campaign was clearly designed to get attention, but with 'Skins' currently occupying the entire outraged-parent demographic, will anyone actually care? The Parents Television Council is probably too busy bugging another 'Skins' sponsor to drop out to be angry about a little ol' CW show.

A CW spokesperson told EW, "VD simply stands for 'Vampire Diaries,' and anyone who thinks otherwise should probably get themselves checked out."

Ha ha.
