Orange County Choppers Faces Foreclosure, Fox Hit With 'Lie to Me' Lawsuit and More

by Chris Harnick, posted Jan 25th 2011 12:00PM
Paul Teutul Sr.Orange County Choppers is facing foreclosure on an upcoming episode of its reality series, 'American Chopper.'

In November, the Times Herald Record reported that the lender behind OCC's headquarters in Newburgh, N.Y., filed a foreclosure action against the reality stars. The preview for next week's 'American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior' showed Paul Teutul Sr. dealing with the news.

According to The Times Herald Record, Orange County Choppers has two mortgages through GE Commercial Finance Business Property Corp. One is for $11 million and the other is for $1.5 million. The November foreclosure action said the OCC missed payments of $96,400 and $14,000. They were due July 1.

Richard Mahon, lawyer for the Choppers, told the newspaper in November that his clients stopped making payments to put pressure on the lender to modify terms of the loan since the value of the building has changed in the recession.

"This is just a bump in the road," Mahon told the Record. "We believe the parties will reach a resolution and the headquarters will continue in this location."

REALITY TV??? What an oxymoron. Put a camea in front of someone daily and it is anything BUT reality. And sorry Love, it IS OCCs fault. They signed the papers, they didn't pay, now the get forclosed. Guessing the saw 12+ million and simply asked "where do i sign". I've seen several of the shows from the first couple of years. After that it became the same thing every week. different bikes, same in-fighting.

Wow ! What fools , With all the money they make selling there bikes and tv rev how can they be in trouble ? Article states they are trying to redo a loan with GE capital well didnt they borrow that money in good faith ? They were givin 11 million plus 1.4 million and they dont want to pay it back ! Real classy guys I bought a bike from you for 125 k without tv time in which you wanted another 200k to do . You wouldnt even work with me ! Hell you had some salesman do all the talking as you werent even available . This is why banks bend us all over with fees and interest charges and credit is so hard for the public to get . I will be selling my bike in shame asap ! Get real jobs and see how the real world survives you all should be ashamed of what you have become Dishonest Business People .

Where have you been? Business has dropped or stopped for everyone since 2008 when OCC built their current shop! No one makes the same money they were making in 2008, if any at all. No one has any money left to spend. When values depreciate, the interest rates go down, making your payment drop as well, and you can then actually continue making payments on your loan if your income drops. That way no body loses. Occ is not responsible for the outrageous fees and interest on credit cards! The banks wont modify anyone's loan so they are stuck with all these foreclosed homes they cant resell, and if they do, they don't sell for anything close to what the original owners bought them for, so they take huge loses and then get fired and sued by the lenders for losing all their investment. Occ has nothing to do with it sorry.

if everybody thinks that orange county choppers has trouble take a look at Billy Lane he just started his 6 year prison sentence for drunk driving that caused a accident to his fellow biker friend that killed him. The teutals are just a dysfunctional family with issues. Sure Sr. is a prick towards his kids but i think Rick and Vinnie did most the work there in that shop. Jr does have great ideas and does fabricate great bikes. Sr just walks around yelling screaming and slamming doors then takes the credit for the bike when finished. Then theres Mikey it seems here everybody dogs him but hey he is what he is. Its a shame the family is on thin ice(if thats true) and the issue of suing Jr. is just crazy just pay him his 20% and get it over with for in the long run he made Sr more than 20% on all the projects that he helped on.

We have been watching OCC since 2003. I know we don't see everything, but it seems unanimous from our families point of view that both father and son just want respect and support from one another for their accomplishments. Senior was able to provide Junior when Jr. first started a nice fully equipped shop, and years of knowledge, unlike when Sr. first began building bikes and started the business from scratch in his garage, working on the hard cold concrete floor, and had much less, that Jr. took advantage of that situation. Junior would come in to work extremely late, take as long of a lunch as he wanted, and sometimes just disappear in the middle of a build leaving everyone wondering where he went and when he was returning. Senior also felt that his son's work ethics reflected that Jr. felt entitlement because he was the "Owner's son" and took too much credit for the builds, when it was a team effort.
It seems from Junior's perspective that he had helped design and build many of OCC's bikes, which millions have watched him do, and his contribution to the company over the years he has worked with his father have been constantly scrutinized, belittled, and unnoticed, which hurts him very deeply. When father and son displayed mythical confrontations from time to time, the end results of those furniture throwing, glass shattering, punch their fist through wall arguments had both father and son emotionally drained, extremely visibly heart broken, and both seeking the same acknowledgment and respect from one another. The fact that these elements in the teutul's relationship are so important to them both, shows how much they do love and respect each other. We hope and pray Senior and Junior put their suspicions, anger and resentment they have for each other right now aside and work this out. They are stronger and will be much more successful united as a family, and even though they have had horrible confrontations with each other, they have had many more happy, funny, and bonding moments we have witnessed, and that speaks volumes about their true love and respect for one another as father and son.
