Sir Anthony Hopkins Wants to Be an 'American Idol' Judge (VIDEO)

Sir Anthony Hopkins Talks 'Idol' on 'Jimmy Kimmel'It's hard to imagine Dr. Hannibal Lecter as an 'American Idol' judge. Sir Anthony Hopkins, the actor known for his serious turns in 'The Silence of the Lambs,' 'Amistad' and 'Nixon' is a huge fan of the show.

"It's like the American dream, isn't it?" he explained after Jimmy Kimmel showed footage of Hopkins cheering on Adam Lambert from the 'Idol' audience. "I want to get on the show and become a judge," he said on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC). "[But] I couldn't be tough on them."

Kimmel was skeptical: "We have Oprah for compassion; we need somebody mean in there."

alfaomega...lol. Youre right. Obama doesn't rock. He has rocks in his head. lol.... The man just declared he's going to SPEND more money, ( secret code word, INVEST) even though we are in serious trouble with this debt...Oh, that took brains to do----Spend more while we're in serious debt.... We have no jobs, no money, etc, but lets get all this crud that is sooo expensive. Hoping obama will be a one term prez.

Anthony Hopkins would be FANTASTIC! I saw him interviewed on anothers how too lately, and he spoke about how much he loves the kids and want to encouragfe them and work with them! I think that's fantastic! He's a great man and a great actor of our time! In real life, they say he such a sweet man and you can see that! Love him!

We tried to watch that show once and found it to be very stupid catering to the warped minds of confused 12 year olds and emotionaly immuture adults. We shall never watch it again. God Bless America.
