Lifetime Plans 'William & Kate' Movie
Lifetime's latest ripped-from-the-headlines movie will be a tad less salacious than its usual fare. The channel is tackling the upcoming royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton in a film scheduled to air the week before the couple's April 29 nuptials.'William & Kate' will chronicle the pair's "courtship and romance," according to E! Online. New Zealander Nico Evers Swindell will play the prince, but his lady love has yet to be cast. Ben Cross will play Charles.
Lifetime's press release describes the movie as such: "'William & Kate' tells the story of how the friendship between Prince William, second in line to the throne of the British monarchy, and future princess Kate Middleton, the stunning daughter of upper middle-class commoners, blossomed into a romantic love affair, charming the world with their recent engagement and eagerly awaited Royal Wedding.
"The film chronicles the history of William and Kate -- from the moment the two students met at Scotland's prestigious University of St. Andrews, through the ups and downs of their nine-year courtship complicated by social and royal family pressures, and intense global media attention surrounding their storybook nuptials."
TLC is also planning coverage in anticipation of the royal wedding, including a week's worth of royal-related specials leading up to the big event.
