Meghan McCain Rips Michele Bachmann's State of the Union Rebuttal: 'No Better Than a Poor Man's Sarah Palin' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 27th 2011 4:26AM
Meghan McCain, 'The Last Word with Lawrence O'DonnellThe Daily Beast columnist Meghan McCain was on 'The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell' (Wed., 8PM on MSNBC), where she and the host responded to GOP Congresswoman Michele Bachmann's response to the State of the Union address. MSNBC did not air the response, but CNN did, which McCain thinks they "should be ashamed of."

O'Donnell called Bachmann's statements the "second response to the State of the Union Address," because the designated Republican response had already been given. He agreed with McCain "about how there were these different people who are just using their platforms to their own personal advantage, rather than thinking about what it means for the party."

"I think it's important to note that Michele Bachmann is not a leader, and she's not the leader of the Republican Party," McCain said in response. She went on to say that Bachmann "is no better than a poor man's Sarah Palin."

She believes CNN should be ashamed of themselves for airing the video of Bachmann, "who couldn't even look into the camera directly," and praised Fox News and MSNBC for not doing so.

While MSNBC may have resisted the urge to run the actual response, they still chose to give it air time in this discussion about its shortcomings, so Bachmann still got her press coverage.

It may not have been positive coverage, but it keeps her name floating around where people might latch onto it and remember it, and isn't that what really matters when you're considering a Presidential run in 2012?

Megan McCain seems to be this generation's Ron Reagan. Nothing significant to say, but has a platform to say it on because she's her father's daughter.

All these nutjobs supporting a woman (Bachmann) who actually thinks that Carbon Dioxide is harmless because "it occurs in nature", and who thinks that the "founding fathers abolished slavery". This idiot needs to just die already. It's hard to believe that there are actually that many people stupid enough in Minnesota to vote for this (flip-flopping...never supported TEA Party Values before) idiot, but that just tells you how dumb the average American is. Average is really pathetic. Why let the average idiot run the country when we have so many elites? Elitism is not a bad thing, it's a good thing, a meritocracy.

Meghan McCain is a child...children must grow and be mature before making comments about anybody!
Nothing but an inexperienced kid trying so hard to be in the "lime-light"
Hopefully she will grow up and make sense one day in the future....
This not her first time, she trashed Sarah Palin and Meghan is still wet behind the ears!
Hmm wonder where THE DAILY BEAST came from? could it be named after a person?

I feel so embarrassed for the people in that congressional district in Minnesota that keeps electing that nut Bachman to office. She's the biggest whackjob in the U.S. Congress. Have these people no sense of shame? If they can tolerate the likes of that stupid, paranoid nutbar, they should at least have the brains to see how she is seen in the normal parts of America. Someone ought to throw a big black blanket over her so the rest of us don't have to see or hear Ms. Crazy any longer.

Meghan McCain has quite obviously been raised by a father who thinks the same as his daughter. McCain was a very poor candidate and had it not been for Sarah Palin he would have been totally embarassed by his showing at the polls. Thank our dear Lord he was rejected as President. Two LOSERS running for President and NEITHER one was qualified to be in the White House. Sarah Palin would have been the better candidate. At the very least, Sarah says what she means and you can take it to the bank she will stand by her words. Meghan, get a life!!!!

Who the #$&@ is Meghan McCain and what the #$&@ has she ever done that gives her any credibility to criticize anybody. At least Michele Bachman was elected to office and didn't just get a job because of her last name.
