Sarah Palin Calls Obama's State of the Union 'Sputnik Moment' Analogy a 'WTF Moment' (VIDEO)
Sarah Palin stopped by 'On the Record With Greta Van Susteren' (weekdays, 10PM ET on Fox News) where she talked about Barack Obama's State of the Union address.Palin was particularly critical of Obama's call for a modern day "Sputnik moment," a reference to how the American government and scientific community rallied together after the Soviet Union launched the first satellite into space.
"That was another of those WTF moments, when he so often repeated this 'Sputnik moment,' that he would aspire Americans to celebrate," Palin said. (WTF is an acronym for a profane phrase that starts with "What the ...")
According to Palin's interpretation of history, the whole concept of the "Sputnik moment" Obama was describing was bogus, because the Soviets' early win in the space race ultimately contributed to the communist empire running out of money.
Say what you will about the former-governor, but at least she's bringing Internet lingo into mainstream politics.
