'American Idol' Fake Apologizes for Steven Tyler's Behavior (VIDEO)

by Elizabeth Chan, posted Feb 2nd 2011 11:28PM

Steven Tyler has been acting completely odd on this season of 'American Idol.' So when the producers announced they would be making an apology on his behalf, it got us all thinking about things we kind of expect apologies for:

1. Tyler's wacky demeanor, hitting on any semi-attractive female auditioner.
2. Tyler's inability to *NOT* sing along with an auditioner.
3. Tyler's uncanny ability to be supportive towards auditioners who are clearly horrifyingly untalented.

Alas, the entire country was had, as this urgent apology situation turned out to be one big publicity dud.

Watch the apology for yourself and see what we mean.

'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on Fox

I think Steven Tyler brings a fun-flare, compassion and 40 plus years of experience to the show. No other judge can match his experience nor his fan base. In an interview with FOX, he stated that he was uncomfortable in the beginning and just maybe, that is how he coped. Lastly, he is my favorite Judge by far and I love that he can sing along and make us laugh. We needed that entertainment this years since whom ever put the audition shows together did a terrible job. They have been boring and as always TOO MANY COMMERCIALS.

Steven tyler is what is going to make or break american idol. There is no reason for an apology since he is the one raising the show to its highest ratings. Let him speak his mind instead of sitting there like boring j.l. Steven Tyler is witty, funny, and spontaneous to make the show what is to be . .

I can not believe these comments.....this judges---Jay Jo Tyler Randi....now make sense--they have the credentials
to judge what is good and what is not good.......I have to admit-Jay Lo is so annoying.SO ANNOYINH..but the girl knows the biz... as far as Tyler.....the show now has personnality---REAL humor....that is cool and not corny!! I THINK THIS IS BEST THING TO GET THE AUDIENCE TO STAY WITH THIS BURNT OUT SHOW...the hardest thing...is the bad talent..some of which i can not believe thier friends and family have not told them THEY SUCK!!! lollll BRAVO THE NEW JUDGES...I LUV IT.--keep me watching at least for awhile...

My wife and I will never watch Idol again. They treated Paula like crap. Simon left and the two of them really "made" the show. I'm tired, so tired of seeing Ryan all over the place. Doesn't this guy make enough monbey? Oh, I forgot, in Hollywood "enough" is NEVER enough.

I feel that the ratings have dropped because they no longer have Simon and Paula. As soon as they said Steven Tyler was going to be a judge; everyone should have known that it would be very crazy. He is just a wild and crazy guy..... so get over it. Why apologize for being yourself. Some of the contestants should apologize if that is the case. Some of them are sooooo way out there.

I should've read other comments befor makin the one below. As for as ratings, the show has dropped 10% below the season before over the past 10 years!!! That adds up to a 100% drop, so we're now at 0%. GET REAL PEOPLE!!!!!!

My wife and I have always been ardent fans of 'American Idol', however this is the worst season we've had the displeasure to watch since the show started 10 years ago. We were particularly looking forward to STEVEN TYLER joining the show. However, we've been totally disappointed over the actions of Tyler & Jackson!
It seems they're letting any pretty face have an "yes" you're going to Hollywood. Some of the contestants they've said yes to are the worst performers we've ever seen, We'll bet Simon won't even watch the show. We also believe this'll be the last season? What'd you say? Oh, and the contestants are making a FOOL of themselves.
