'Glee' Super Bowl Episode Preview: Zombies, Human Cannons and Fire

by Jean Bentley, posted Feb 2nd 2011 4:00PM

Glee Super Bowl Episode, Thiller, The Sue Sylvester ShuffleWe'd probably be just as excited for the 'Glee' Super Bowl episode (Sunday, approx. 10:30PM ET, Fox) even if it didn't include zombies, human cannons and flaming boobs, seeing as we've had to wait two months between episodes.

But now that we know just how epic Sunday's six-minutes-longer show will be -- thanks to a constant stream of semi-spoilers, teasers and songs that have helped keep the 'Glee' cravings at bay -- let's just say we're grateful Ryan Murphy and Co. are the worst secret-keepers in television.

After the jump, read/watch/see/hear everything we know about the 66-minute 'Sue Sylvester Shuffle' (previously known as 'Thriller'), including a behind-the-scenes video, a photo gallery and full versions of 'Thriller'/'Heads Will Roll,' 'Bills Bills Bills,' 'Need You Now' and 'She's Not There.'

According to the official synopsis (and various commercial promos), the episode will revolve around Coach Bieste and Mr. Schuester trying to keep the peace between the glee club and the football team by forcing the respective groups to sit in on each other's practices. Meanwhile, Sue Sylvester directs an ambitious Cheerios routine set to Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' (and gets an ill-advised tattoo).

In a behind-the-scenes video, Heather Morris said the routine, which you can watch below, is "the most epic dance number that we've done so far."

Just a hunch, but that might be due to the firework-spouting boobs, flaming hula hoops and human cannon (which you can see in action below).

The big number is for the Cheerios' bow at the regional championships, which is why Katie Couric is stopping by to interview Sue.

As for New Directions, they'll perform the highly anticipated (and zombie-filled) 'Thriller' routine, which mashes up the Michael Jackson classic with Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 'Heads Will Roll.'

The other glee club tunes (which you can listen to over at Glee the Music) are a cover of The Zombies' 'She's Not There' and a Rachel/Puck duet of Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now.' Blaine, Kurt and the Dalton Academy Warblers will bust out an a cappella version of Destiny's Child's 'Bills Bills Bills.'

Here's a sneak peek at a Chevy commerical featuring the 'Glee' cast that Fox plans to run during the football game this Sunday.
