Clay Aiken May Be Latest 'American Idol' to Get Dropped From Record Label

According to Perez Hilton, Clay Aiken might just be the latest member of an elite club of 'American Idol' winners and finalists to get dropped from their record label.

After the lackluster sales of his fifth album, "Tried and True," Aiken's label, Decca, has decided to end its relationship with the Season 2 runner-up, an insider told Hilton.

Aiken's personal life seems to have received more attention in recent years than his music. In particular, his decision to father the child of David Foster's sister, Jaymes Foster, drew much attention from the media, along with Aiken's coming out as gay.

Aiken's musical career is most likely far from over, but if Decca has indeed dropped the North Carolina native, he'll join the man who bested him in Season 2, Ruben Studdard, and Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks, in the search for a record deal.

I agree with MIL 1415 as well. In fact, I think he should have won Season 2. He was that good!!

Clay Aikens is a wonderful singer--can sing most any songs great--decca will be sorry that they are dropping him. not many singers out there that are good, at least you can understand the words that he sings--not like a lot of noise like most of the other singers ( GET REAL )

I think he wanted them to drop him,so he could make his own deals. There are plenty of labels for him to choose from. Seems to me Decca is the one that is always being dropped. Clay you go for it baby.
