If you thought it was awkward having to talk to your parents about sex, it was much worse for Rachel Bilson. On 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), she talked about her mother's profession as a sex counselor and how that inevitably impacted her own life growing up.

We can only imagine how involved their "birds and bees" talk got. In many cases, parents are just as uncomfortable as their children when they move through this rite of passage. But for Bilson's mother, it was just another day at the office.

"When she's talking to me about penises," Bilson said. "It's a little awkward."

Her friends, however, had no such hang-ups. "I need to talk to your mom," they would say to her. "Oh my god, I don't even want to know what you're going to ask her," she'd respond.

Maybe she was wishing one of their parents were a professional in the sex field so she could have someone to talk to who wasn't her mother. It seemed to be working for all of her friends, after all.
